You have reached losdemokratie.de, the website of the officially registered, German sortition party "Losdemokratie - Für eine starke Bürgerschaft", founded in August 2025.
All world-wide (self-proclaimed) democracies rely on more or less indirect "representative" systems, that is, an electorate elects groups (political parties) of leaders but they have little to no influence about what their "leaders" will do with their vote. China, Russia all call themselves democracies.
It can be established scientifically that thus, wealthiy citizens and corporations have far bigger influence on any part of the government than the populace in its entirety.
That's exactly the point: Those who invent a technology, those who discover stars, species, are the first one to name them. That's why most stars have arabic names and we even use arabic numerals all over the globe.
In the same way, Ancient Greece experienced all forms of government already 2500 years ago: They experienced tyrannies, oligarchies and other forms of aristocracies, and, finally, in 507 BC, the Kleisthenes party discovered or invented "isonomy", later derogatorily misnamed as "democracy", that is, reign by the plebs.
Isonomy is much better, one could even say, real democrcacy:
All individual citizens are being granted the same power, not only a vote every some years, not only to speak out freely but to rule over their own fate as a society. Ancient Greece randomly selected 400 to 500 citizens, again and again, to discuss all topics that we are using be be calling them political. The word "politics" stems from the word "polis", that is, citizes gathering under equal power. In today's, so-called democracies, only 0,3% of the grown up population is in power.
While it is a fact that Athens also invented elections earlier (in 574 BC), elections were not able to bring peace, just as we see today: Even before elections, rich oligarchs gathered military and followers to stay in power. Introducing elections came with the hope, those "revolutions" would bring less bloodshed. Less bloodshed is not peace and it seems that tyrannies can be voted in by the electorate, just like Germany did from 1933 to 1945.

While that is true, it is safe to say that today, at least most parts of t he world would not repeat the mistake to exclude women, the poor and mercenaries (the "metic"). Every part of society needs to come in touch with each other in randomly selected citizen committees. This is what we as a party want to amend to our constitutions. Ironically, our party's only goal is to make all political parties obsolete.

It seems that Platon and Socrates, both being aristocrats at the time Athen already had been a true democracy, did not stop to spread antidemocratic propaganda: The both adressed genuine weaknesses, such that it it is easy to mislead the cititzens but what they called "rhetors". However, they ignored the fact theat political parties, being a much smaller group, can just a s easily be mislead by lobbyism by the richest.
The solution is not to replace isonomy by another aristocracy of so-called philosophers, als Platon suggested, but to form more and smaller groups that are swapped in a say, monthly cycle. However, all western cultures almost completey absorbed the ill-fit criticism and still believe - by now agaist all evidence - that a caste of "well meaning philosophers" could be found.
